It's Saturday in Frisco and Matt is in his apartment's front hall half-bathroom, finishing with his grooming. His cell phone is on the vanity. It rings.

M: "Matt here...oh, hello, Libby...(Matt's face falls)...I understand...no, no, don't worry about it...I'll catch dinner with you then...all right, at seven...Ruth's Chris? Fine...bye."

He clicks off the cell phone and puts the phone into his pocket. He exits the bath, grabs his leather jacket and keys, then exits his apartment. He decides to walk down the stairs to the garage.

Matt starts to whistle happily as he gets closer to his beloved: a sleek silver beauty of a Jaguar. He unlocks the doors and gets in, adjusting the controls to suit him. He pops in a Mozart CD then pulls out of the garage.

Driving through hilly Frisco, Matt begins to feel better. His date, Libby Andrews, has cancelled out on him at the last minute...something she does whenever Matt wants to go to a car show, or a car rally. For that matter, Libby doesn't seem to like Matt's interest in cars, although she's more than happy to be the lady in the Jag.

As Matt comes closer to the Convention Center, he smiles as he thinks of the Frisco Car Show there today and Sunday. Matt pulls into a parking space, an amazing feat given Frisco's tight parking. He locks up his Jag then goes inside the convention center.

Lamborghini's, Ferraris, Jags, Alfa Romeos, Maserati's, not to mention a Lancia Storatos--all manner of luxury cars and racing--are showcased this weekend, and Matt is in heaven.

He just might miss dinner with Libby to show her how it feels to be stood up again. He wanders over to the silver Lamborghini and stands there, admiring her sleek lines when a striking red-headed woman approaches Matt. She's wearing a badge stating that her name is Denise and she's with the Lamborghini dealer.  She's holding a clipboard and a pen.

D: "Interested in a test spin?"

M: (never one to turn down such a good offer) "Sure!"

D: "Let's say, 1:30, for a half hour?"

M: "Absolutely!"

D: "Name?"

M: "Matt Slingerland."

D: "Great...I"ll put you down for then. It's free but we need your credit card." Denise writes on her clipboard and she's about to speak to Matt again when a personal confrontation breaks out between two men on the other side of the Lamborghini. Security guards break the scuffle up and escort the two men away.

M: "Do you ride..."

D: "That happens a lot. Okay, Matt. 1:30 on the dot! Go to Exit 22 and follow the signs." Denise smiles at Matt, then turns to pigeonhole another man. Matt hears her ask:

D: "Interested in a test spin?"

Man: "You bet!"

D: "2:15 all right?"

Man: "Great."

Matt walks around the Lamborghini. He glances at his watch: 1:00 pm. He decides to get something to eat.

Meanwhile, Nicholas and Rae are in Nick's apartment, on a large, pale beige leather couch that Nicholas has had delivered the previous evening so he could sit and gaze out the bay window. The day is cloudy and cool. Nick and Rae are in the middle of an argument.

R: (snapping) "What are you talking about?"

N: "While you were off crying about your marriage, Matt was diagnosing Joel Zoller's testicular cancer."

R: "It was a benign tumor!"

N: "I had samples of the biopsy sent to another lab. They confirmed the diagnosis."

R: "That's absurd! I didn't miss a diagnosis!"

N: "You read the wrong slides."

R: (exasperated) "I did not read the wrong slides!"

N: "You did."

R: (sighs) "You mean I told the wrong man he had cancer?"

N: "No. The slide you read was from a closed file. You didn't double check the name on the slide."

R: "Norman pulled the wrong file?"

N: "One of the med students pulled the wrong file."

R: "I, well, I guess I should thank you for backing me up."

N: "Matt's the one you need to thank. Matt and I had to tell a man that he would possibly need IVF treatment in order to become a father. Left alone until his next check-up, Zoller would have been terminal."

Just then, Nick's phone rings...he goes to answer the insistent chiming. Nicholas turns towards the bay window, the phone to his ear. He looks at the clock: 1:30.

N: (into the phone) "Tom's got the flu?...that's an easy surgery...Yeah, I can assist...there in a flash."

Nick hangs up the phone.

R: "You going in?"

N: "Yes."

R: "But you said you were going to be taking this weekend off."

N: "If you want someone with a steady shift, you should look elsewhere."

Rae looks hurt as Nicholas walks to the door, purposely ignoring Rae.

R: "What's wrong?"

N: "Surgery's booked full and there's an emergency appendectomy."

Nick pauses at the door.

N: "You going to stay here?"

R: 'I suppose so. I'll walk you to the elevator."

Rae gets up from the couch and the two exit Nick's apartment. They are walking towards the elevator.

N: "I don't try to be perfect, Rae. I know I have personal faults."

R: "Arrogance is one of them."

N: "Maybe I deserved that. But aren't you a little arrogant as well?"

They reach the elevator and Nick presses the button.

R: "Me?"

N: "Yes, you. You've got a good chip on your shoulder, telling me to go back to Greece, then showing up here at my apartment as soon as Sean left."

R: "That's rude!"

N: "Really? I'm not just a pretty shoulder to cry on."

R: "Are you complaining about me being here?"

N: "No. I'm merely reminding you that you told me this morning that I have some personal faults I need to work on. You have faults as well."

R: "All right. So I may have my personal faults, but I'm good at my job!"

N: "You misunderstood. I'm not faulting your professional abilities. You sometimes let your personal life interfere with your job, which requires attention to detail."

R: "And you don't ever let your personal life interfere with your job?"

N: "I admitted I have faults."

R: "Rashness?"

N: "When the cause is right."

R: (drily) "I was referring to Howland's Triple A patient."

Nick's eyes are full of anger. He turns to Rae.

N: "My job is to save lives, not watch patients die as a result of someone's carelessness."

R: "Professional run-ins with other physicans will get you into more trouble besides a two week suspension."

N: "Rae, in the end, it's my skill that keeps patients alive, not my personality."

The elevator doors open to reveal a crowded elevator. Nick gets on.

N: "I'll see you later."

Rae is left standing alone as the elevator doors close.

Nicholas is driving his black BMW Z20. He turns left at the corner and is driving eastwards towards the offices. In the opposite direction, people are turning and pointing. Nicholas is curious about the scene; and soon he discovers the source of everyone's curiosity: a silver Lamborghini with a very familiar person at the wheel who's in the right hand turning lane.

Nicholas does a double-take and honks. Matt honks back and waves to Nicholas. The traffic moves and Matt moves with the traffic out of Nicholas's sight. Nicholas smiles and makes a mental note to attend Day Two of the Frisco Car Show at the Convention Center. He knows that Matt, whose crush on Jules is maturing, will be there checking out all the sleek driving beauties.

1:40 pm...Jules is jogging down by the waterfront park when she meets up with Harriet, who's out walking a dog.

J: (jogging up behind Harriet) "I didn't know you had a dog. (to dog) "Hello, there!" (dog jumps up on Jules; she laughs.)

H: "Dog sitting for the weekend. Benji's quite excitable when he meets someone new."

J: "Name me a dog who isn't excited to meet someone. Hi Benji!'

Harriet laughs.

H: "Exercise is good for you post-op."

J: "Just wish I hadn't needed the op in the first place."

H: "Stage I doesn't mean a death sentence. You just have to be more aware of breast cancer developing."

J: "I most certainly do not wish Rae's professional services."

H: "Perhaps you wish to get genetically tested?"

J: "That's a thought."

(Benji pulls hard on the leash)

H: "He's still just a puppy."

J: "I see that. Hey, you tried the Axum Cafe last week. Was the new menu good?"

H: "That depends. When the restaurant was Mayes Oyster House, I used to love going there. But I wasn't sure about the new Ethiopian menu."

J: "First time for Ethiopian food?"

H: "Yeah."

J: "Me too. I'm thinking of phoning Matt and asking him to join me for dinner."

H: "Matt's at a car show. He might not want to leave."

J: (laughing) "Him and his cars."

H: "My husband appears to be lost at the Frisco Car Show as well...he turned off his pager."

J: "Men! Well, see you Monday!"

H: (to Jules' retreating back) "Good day! Lift up your feet!"

Harriet continues walking the dog and eventually exits the park. Like Nicholas a few minutes before, Harriet notices people pointing, turning and staring. Soon the object of everyone's curiosity comes into sight: a silver Lamborghini making its way down the street in Harriet's direction.

She watches the car go by, and is suprised to see Matt at the wheel. She waves but Matt passes by, then stops. Harriet goes up to the right side car window. Matt opens the window.

M: "Good afternoon! Care for a ride?"

H: "Hello, Matt. No, thank you. Benji here needs walking."

M: "Benji?

H: "Neighbor's grandkids named the dog."

M: "Ah."

H: "Lamborghini?"

M: "Test driving her. Attending the car show."

H: "If you see my husband there, send him home, please."

M: "All right. Hey, Benji's digging around that tree."

H: "Benji! Stop that!" (to Matt) "Dogs!"

M: "He must be in his digging stage."

H: "He's already dug up my garden See you Monday, Matt."

M: "All right. See you Monday.

Harriet walks on, Benji tugging his leash and barking. Matt glances at the clock (1:48), then rolls up the window and drives on through Frisco back towards the Convention Center.
