MARCH 2006: Boston Legal, you ROCKED with SHOCK on the 7th! Why Alan didn't threaten the widow with exposing her husband as a pedophile eludes me...he could have saved himself a LOT of money for those pictures! Denny might have liked to look at the photos and so can plead with Alan (Denny: "An end of year bonus for just a peek? She was my wife!)

...So it's March, 2006, & I'm still here on the fanfic site, just lurking around now, writing (at least, I hope the stories sell!) with: picture books (five, excluding a picture book just recently born in the last two weeks because my favorite indie band went AWOL...

Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained

10/27/04My apologies for being soo late, gosh, soo late with stories. I will be attending the Screenwriter's Expo in November 2004 and attending Shane Salerno's talk on Saturday Nov 6 (see the Paul Blackthorne fan site (more about the writer's expo below, along with titles of the tv series premises I will be bringing as leave-behinds).

The reason for my long absence is explained below.

I DO have an entire list of stories that are planned...but without a computer and without an address (not to mention having a beer bottle cracked open over my head), my life has not been geared towards writing. Indeed, I spent nearly two months trying to recuperate from the brutal assault--anxiety, fear, depression were all a part of my life this summer.

Didn't have a *paid* job for most of those two months (sucky, yeah but without an apartment to pay for, this didn't really have an effect on my finances). I have had very little access to the pc; basically whatever time I could get at the library and I've mainly posted over on the Oded Fehr Message Board (MOFF) and the Weaver of Dreams message board.

My attacker, PNJ, was dumb enough to introduce herself to me as the woman who 'beat me up in the water park'. Her arresting officer was ecstatic as he was also the officer who responded to the initial assault. She was charged with assault and battery upon her arrest on September 28, and SINCE then...well, GOSH GEE! the story ideas for Shane Salerno's "Criminal Behavior", book ideas and tv series premises have been pouring out of me! Samples are below.

I will also post the leave-behinds on my new website (ad-free). The Paul Blackthorne Fan Site will also be moving to a new ad-free url. I've been promising this since, well, since May, but when I suddenly lost my temp job and then Patrice broke the beer bottle over my head, I've not been focusing on my fanfiction duties and fansite duties as I should have been doing.

This is what Patrice did to me: forcing me to abandon my writing, abandon my social life, abandon my fansite duties. I suffered anxiety, depression, and, as it turns out, Patrice was watching me since she attacked me. She watched me in the public library, she watched me going about my evenings after I left the library, she watched me in the bookstore (where she tried to intimidate me after her arrest).

But out of her stalkings, amongst other things, I came across a storyline for Shane Salerno's new series. Naturally, I will have to change the angle of the story by adding and deleting things (so Patrice can't turn around and sue me). But the storyline, called "Stingray" and bearing no reference to the show's star, is there, I found it, and at least in the story, the criminal gets their just desserts.

Despite my lack of writing fanfiction the last several months, I have been writing in my head (when will I EVER finish the "Manwhore Murders?" Answer: when I get a computer, and a home.)

However, I WILL be attending the Screenwriter's Expo at the LA Convention Center the first weekend of November. Up for discussion at the writer's panels will be (I have five tv series premises but I think I will focus on three):

1. Bartle & Baker (B&B)--situation comedy tv series premise.
2. Like Mother, Like Daughter--sitcom tv series premise. I also refer to this tv series premise as Family Politics
3. Caps Mountain--one hour drama tv series premise. Lots of action, hot guys, horses, helicopters, tense drama.
4. Rose Beach--one hour family drama. This series might be blended with the following tv series premise:
5. Family-- lol, the title will give it away. However, I noticed this particular tv series premise has one of its story angles already in production, so this tv series premise is going back to the burner for when I purchase my home (yep; upstate new york writing bungalow! Cheap and with a fireplace.)

The last month has also seen not one, but two children's book ideas in the works for this winter (one a picture book starring a white-with-red-markings (not an albino) real-life squirrel, and a lovely little story based on a real-life missing cat. Once I get hold of a pc...well I won't have time to work a desk job as I'll be writing.

I will have access to the internet from LA and I hope to catch some rays while I'm there. If anyone knows of an all you can eat Chinese buffet close to Tinseltown and the LA Convention Center, pleeeeeeez let me know! I haven't been to LA (only the airport) since the mid 90's.

I'll catch ya from LA and I'll be back to writing (whew!). Ciao! --a very relieved Brandi--

5/27/04my email: ucpmfan@yahoo.com...fresh from IMDB: Manwhores being murdered?!?

You don't say!

a bit late with the news, IMDB reports that murders abound for our man Deuce when he travels to London/Amsterdam to attend Manwhore Academy. Will Deuce be next? Stay tuned! Ah, read on below if you want to know why I haven't been writing (I'll get this posted to a blog) or, you can read the continuation to Murder of A Manwhore" target="main">.

a belated THANK YOU! Can I have a job? Pleeeeeeese? :o) I have lots of other skills, too! I don't know to whom to address my thank yous, but thank you, thank you! You don't know how much confidence the new Deuce plotline has given me.

Either I will be able to sell a storyline (or my entry will place in the tv pilot comp I've entered) or perhaps I am a truly psychic portal into the world of Deuce Bigalow!

Since it's been soooo long, here's the link to the beginning of Murder of A Manwhore">. In thecontinuation of Murder of A Manwhore, Mason learns the real item that the mysterious blonde woman stole. He also learns that when you strike it rich, some people you know turn out to be leeches.

Gosh, writing the continuation to Deuce felt so good! I am so glad I was able to find a pc for the evening.

Truly, I must find permanent lodgings--and soon! I'm currently roaming around :o( but I do have a temporary day job at a shipping company (which helped a storyline I'm working on for the tv pilot competition), so I have some computer access. In the evenings, I can get an hour or so of computer access, depending on my location. But this is why I have not been posting fanfiction--or the finish to "Murder of A Manwhore". I've done some work on it, but I've been either a) unable to obtain sustained computer access; or b) when I do have PC access, I've been working on a tv pilot idea which has taken up my time.

I'm not too fond of competitions, but since one of the prizes is representation (which I can't seem to get but perhaps that is a result of my not living in LA), I'll make an exception this time around. It's a drama, I think perhaps might work better as a mini-series; it's set in the future and it has the word 'earth' in it. The other pilot ideas are: a comedy, and a kids show, but I'm entering the drama as I SUCK at comedy writing and the kids show idea came too late for me to do much about it.

Also on 5/27/04...there will be some BIIIIIG changes coming soon to this fanfiction site and my Paul Blackthorne fansite. Why? Because I am tired of the freaking ads which crop up. Plus I'm tired of the layouts. So soon I will be obtaining a paid website with revved up functions. The URLs will change, but I'll leave the current URLS as my 'low-tech' URLs.

3/15/04...Yikes! Busy with moving homes and busy with other writing projects (one paid and one comp entry) this past month; that's why there's been no new fanfiction. Plus, my computer's in storage and durn it, the files I need to finish Rae's dilemma in Something Wicked are on the stored computer. Maybe I'll just write the ending from memory; it always seems to come out better when I lose the files! :o)

In an two-part short fic, Deuce pops up again with his pals Mason and Antoine as GMA experiences a crime wave...and their first murder in....

2/20/04--One year anniversary for Paul's site...Yuck, I hate tripod...all those ads have blocked Paul's pages. I'll redesign Paul's site in March. I've updated his site and added the news that Paul's new show is called: Gramercy Park.

2/19/04a villanious plot that Stephen Saunders has going. He's the next villain on '24'. Look for Paul's performance in a good number of upcoming 24 eps, beginning on Tuesday, 2/24, naturally. Ah, and on ER's "Blood Relations" ep 10.15 he puts in an appearance and on ER's "Forgive and Forget" (ep 10.16) things heat up 'tween Lawson and Corday--someone sent some spoilers.

2/5/04 Congratulations out to Paul Blackthorne! In addition to landing the lead on an ABC/Touchstone pilot slated for fall, Paul snagged a recurring role as a surgeon on 'ER' and we'll see him in upcoming episodes of Fox's "24" playing a British secret agent :o) gone rogue. I'll post on this site and on his fan page when he'll be on ER and 24. Stay tuned!

& new fanfiction up. In this mostly dialogue fic, Rae gets testy and Jules makes dual decisions regarding her cancer treatment and the embryos. Rae also gets jealous when she sees Nick with another woman, and Nick discovers some surprising news when a woman from his past tracks him down.

It's not my best fic, not by a long shot, thinly plotted, long and rambly, and, I think it's a Track B to Something Wicked but I've had my plate full writing a lengthy application for transfer into, hopefully, UCLA as a geography major. Utah (Salt Lake) and Buffalo are my two other top choices. Also developing new ideas for patents and writing the claims (it's hard to draw when you're not an artist!). I hope I've gotten to such a point that at least one of my ideas will make it to the finals in the Invent Now, America contest co-sponsored by the USPTO.

I'd like to get a crack at being a television writer. I've been told off, literally fried, by one unnamed chap who posted to a tv writer's message board in response to my message. He typed his flame in response to this statement: "I'm trying to crack the tv writer's market. Are there any good scriptwriting courses that I can take?" Then I got flamed in what came to be a six page (I downloaded the answer into Word) tirade against me, telling me, amongst other things, that I had some nerve logging onto the message board without even had a scriptwriter's course.

In the meantime, while I'm still looking for an agent and that elusive first sale, I want to make some progress towards finishing my bachelor's degree.

UCLA has a very high declination rate for transfer students (over 8,200 were declined). I also have an elementary geography textbook and software project outline in the works for my transfer application. Two additional geography projects round out my application.

By getting as many of my ideas transferred onto pending patent applications as I can hopefully will give my transfer application some bite. Oh, yeah, and today they told me by email what I don't want to hear: November is the only period in which I can send my transfer application for the following fall quarter. Meaning fall of 2005 would be the earliest I can start at UCLA. However, by writing my application now, at least I will have made efficient use of the resources at hand plus I will have plenty of time to modify my personal statement (required for transfer students). So it could be Utah for college (and lots of skiing. One of my inventions is a skiing accessory).

I've been in hibernation after a huge family blowout. Usually when I'm that upset, I can write better and more frequently. It was, after all, a sexual assault that got me started in writing fan fiction for UC: Undercover just over two years ago. In the last few months, I've discovered a lot about how families can take sides, and how families can disintegrate when everyone stands against a family member when her rights are stepped upon.

I learned that I am being blamed for something for which I shouldn't have been blamed. I learned that my father and his wife are extremely hypercritical regarding anything that is going on in my life, especially if my life doesn't meet their standards. And, strangely, I also learned that families can be very critical of someone's decision to return to college, though why for the life of me would anyone object to my obtaining a geography degree?

Why all the objections to my owning certain things? The short answer is: we are all adults with our own agendas. The long answer would take more time to write than I have. My queries into my mother's estate (that one of my older brother's managed) is what started it. I have the right to know just how much money there really was in my mother's estate--and I haven't been getting many answers. Why all the secrecy? Because there's more to it than meets the eye. I've tried to settle with my brother outside of the probate court but to no avail. Missing life insurance benefits, extra money not reported to me or to the probate court...lots of things going on and none of it is good. All of this will be public information, btw.

But out of my family problems has arisen a new character for publication...Kalileah Rivera (no relation to Eirene Rivera, whose story "Diamonds Are Not Forever" I think wants Shane Salerno to treat it). Kalileah is in LA to attend college, she is an older student returning to obtain her degree in anthropology. At college, she uncovers a whopper of a financial scam when she is working for her professor...and someone may end up dead if Kalileah doesn't back off.

12/02/03...six weeks, whew! Tears continues the "Something Wicked" storyline. Tyring to wrap it up but couldn't find a way to deal with Robert Winningham. I think "Tears" gives a bit of a surprise and throws a spanner into the works. I'll have to continue this story but I posted what I have.

for those photographers in the group, the Smithsonian Magazine is sponsoring their first ever photo competition. Deadline is December 31, 2003 . Address to send photos to is: Photo Contest, Smithsonian Magazine, P.O. Box 50383, Washington, D.C. 20091. Entries must be postmarked by 12/31/03. Digital resolution or film originals.

link to photo contest info on Smithsonian Mag's site: Photo Contest

I know it's a bit close to the deadline but I only found the September issue of Smithsonian last week during a dumpster dive for reading material (the apartment complex in which I live has 4,500 units and requires magazines and newspapers to be separated from the rest of the trash.)

On the personal side, I haven't been writing at all these past weeks. Lots of problems with my family and the estate problems.

10/14/03...Part II End of the Line (Track B mystery)...(I merged the files; click on part II)...I am in serious need of pruning shears & a class on "Writing the Thriller". This freshman effort mystery uses some convenient plot devices to keep the story flowing & there are parts where I wonder what I was thinking.

In Part II: Ooops. Sherry failed to pass along the dashing host's invite to Barry's mother, Miranda Silver. The host discovers this fact & he fetches Miranda to the event. Barry's angry mother confronts Sherry @ the charity event & to the amusement of the guests, Harmony plays a well-deserved trick on Sherry. Miranda plans on having Sherry removed as executor of the Barry Brinks Estate. Along with Miranda, the four amateur detectives then discover Sherry managed to swap Barry's will but Rae has an idea that will bring Sherry to justice...and uncover the truth about the murder of Barry Brinks.

10/07/03...End of the Line (Track B mystery). Will Nick stand by Rae when she is forced to reveal a twenty five year old secret that could have adverse repercussions on hers and Nick's reputations? There are secrets buried beneath secrets in End of the Line and Rae's first secret to be revealed is not the most damaging.

Recall day in California is two days away. With legal considerations in mind, the fellas' political campaign transformed into a month-long charity fundraiser, and those same legal considerations cause Nick & Matt to withdraw from the recall race. For reasons of her own, Rae is not happy with that decision; a twenty five year old grudge has been resurrected when Rae's aging adversary sends Rae a mysterious package and the nemesis asks Rae: Mind if I cut in again?

Harmony discovers the name of her strange reaction to alcohol & contemplates that she is of Asian/Irish descent rather than all Irish as she's been led to believe. Nick and Matt have been busy creating secrets of their own: they have set up a surprise for the two ladies at a charity fundraiser somewhere in Los Angeles & the actor hosting the charity event is the actor both ladies have fantasized meeting. But unbeknownst to Rae, her adversary has something decidedly different in mind for the fundraiser and Rae gets the first of several shocks of her life when she arrives at the posh mansion.

For twenty five years ago, Rae was to have posed for a most...unusual sculpture on television for the late fast-rising sculptor/photographer Barry Brinks. But it's not the long-gone sculpture that ends up shocking Rae at the fundraiser and causes her to wonder if Nick will either stand by her or desert her. It's something a bit more...revealing. And, during the course of the evening, Rae finds herself bothered by the growing possibility that Barry's untimely death wasn't accidental....

fic is to be continued (along with the ending to Something Wicked)...End of the Line is written in a mix of first person (Rae) mixed with third person (Nick; Matt/Harmony's parts). I'm not sure which I like better, the first person or the third person.

9/22/03 Surprised ya last time with the Deuce fic, eh? Deuce surprised me as well as I was intending to create the first fan site for Deuce II & the story just fell out. Now, here's Robert Dalgety, MD in his first adventure fic. The story is a literary casualty of Hurricane Isabel when the power went off Thursday the 17th around 4ish & erased my first draft, along with the saved file on the floppy. The second time around for Dalgety is much better and is closer in writing style to my real-life short fiction.

In On The Other Side Of The Mountain: The Mish has closed--maybe permanently--and Dalgety has taken on at will work. He is also still despondent over Gina's death. Happening upon a chance message at a gourmet grocery store, Dalgety decides to change his life even more & he takes up a new hobby. Months later, he is called to help rescue two men stranded on a mountainside without proper supplies. [The story is not related to other my other Dalgety fics. I took some dramatic liberty; "Into Thin Air", the book referenced in the story, is an account of the May 1996 Everest tragedy and was used as a reference. All mistakes are mine.]

9/10/03 offbeat fic for Deuce Bigalow: Double Crossed. A bit of light crime writing. After receiving a threatening note, London Barrister Mason McDaniels helps Antoine & Deuce track down a gang of young thieves & in the process, the trio solves a puzzling crime.

8/27/03 Wow. 26 days without anything to post...Trying to write too much and not enough focus: a children's book (ideas come & go. sigh.), a few geography papers, fanfic & short stories. Dalgety gets an adventure storyline in early September.

Meanwhile, in Two Heads Are Better Than One, a Track B story, Rae tries to track down the giver of a ritzy hotel weekend getaway package that she, Nick, Matt & Harmony receive. While at the hotel, the fellas find themselves in sudden public demand when a surprise announcement is made to the California media hounds. Two Heads is not one of my better fics; I'm stretched too thin & I know I need an editor. I'm quite sure the verb tense changes in the last third of the story. But I do rather like the idea behind the story, so I let it flow.

8/01/03...A Something Wicked fic. In Turning Point, a mixup between the chemo drugs vincristine and methotrexate causes Harmony & two of her campers to become alarmed and brings Matt & Nick to the rescue. Rae is finally handed some good news & she's elated at the prospect of working with Amanda Sotheby again. Rae's depression is becoming obvious to the staffers at UMC & some have concerns about her medical judgment & when the vincristine scare occurs, there's an emergency meeting of docs. Afterward, Nick persuades Rae to get some counseling.

Also, the fellas' summer medical camp is a success, having enrolled several dozen teens--and one thirty-something adult who is scheduled to begin medical school in the fall. The summer camp posed some HIPPA problems with David, but the problems were resolved. However, Marnie Brown, the 16 year old who tricked Jackie into performing Marnie's breast implant surgery, has been saying some interesting things to her friends, and David hands Jackie some bad news about her portion of the summer camp. Meanwhile, a friend of Matt's betrays his trust when she ends up at a doctor-signature required Weight Modification Ranch in Montana. She wants to have gastric bypass surgery performed but the HMO says that even her budding cardiac problems don't qualify her. The woman further shocks Matt with the solution to her BMI problem but Nick comes to the rescue.

7/15/03......Forum is up for Paul's site...

Pop! Went the Champagne and Boom! said the Yacht (7/15/03)...Anyways, in the latest Track B fic (trying to keep on par with Nick and Rae's relationship in the unaired US eps), Rae explains to Nick about water noodle exercises & the two end up...well, moving on, Jules and Jackie come over for a bachelor girl party. When Jackie sends Rae a Man-O-Gram, Rae hopes that Jackie's new boyfriend (fellow new doc Anthony) doesn't get jealous. Then, suddenly, Nick phones with devastating news & the trio watches the story unfold on tv. a Rae/Nick storyline. This Track B story is an experiment in writing characters while preparing for a mystery.

6/28/03...Mini Track B Part II...Blame the sun! By day, a strange round yellow object was seen in the skies over Washington during the past week. Frantic calls to the observatory revealed the yellow object was The Sun. So, I went on a pool vacation, sparking a lecture from Rae on moles...after she attends another rally, this time protesting about the rising student fees, Nick is prompted to be a bit more stern in his lecture to Rae. Jules helps a mother of a tweenie, Matt gets permission for his summer camp.

6/18/03...Recall!--a Track B storyline. I think this story is a flooby (one of those disjointed eps having no relation to any known storyline that sometimes crop up in a tv series). Anyways, sans the pregnancy and date rape storyline of "Something Wicked" (hence the Track B designation), it's June & Rae introduces Nick to American politics when the two lovers attend a politcal rally but Nick is called away to perform an emergency operation. Matt diagnoses a Chinese laborer with a lung disease. Jackie gets inspiration from a newspaper article and proposes quite an unusual vacation. Jules tries to help a mother reprogram her crying child & Letty is attempting to tell an anorexic mother that her overweight child doesn't have baby fat. More in line with the ep "Good Questions", Recall has Nick and Rae get a bit intimate.

6/10/03...Rae faces Decisions, Decisions. It's not the end for Rae but she's not having a very good day. She gets a touch jealous when she discovers just who is--and is not--invited to the City's Bark & Yowl Ball benefitting the Humane Society. Letty tells Nick some very welcome news concerning his suspension for operating on Doc Howland's patient. Jackie discovers David's heard about Marnie's implants and he informs her that any lawsuit settlements are coming out of her liability insurance. Jules attends a six year old deaf girl who is having a bit of difficulty with a strawberry hemagioma. Nick and Matt begin to gel their idea for a summer camp.

6/2/03...it's The Morning After the Night Before (link fixed) & Nick has persuaded Computer Services to create a Date Rape Awareness section on the University's web page--and perusing the site, Rae discovers that she needs one more blood test done. Rae also chatted with Ellen Etzel (the ADA) & the two women are going to recreate a softer Rae Brennan. Meanwhile, Matt treats Jules' black eye and he has a new addition to his one-man family. Harriet and Letty try to convince the pregnant Nicole Sanders to have a biopsy of the tumor on her pulmonary artery. Nick gets more than he bargained for when an angry Ophelia turns up at Presidio's offices and 16 year old Marnie gets her breast implants & shocks the hell out of Jules when Marnie flaunts her newly enlarged chest. & when Jackie finds out that she not only operated on an underage patient without parental consent, she also finds out she goofed during the procedure.

5/27/03... A Little Night Music, Please: Nick steps in for Doctor Crenshaw (UMC's spinal surgeon) and Nick performs spinal fusion surgery. Later on that night, Nick goes on a poetry-reading double date with Ophelia, Matt and Harmony. When Nick's end of the date goes sour at his apartment, it's surprise! Jackie who turns things around for Nick but Ophelia tries one last dirty trick. Rae repaints her bedroom and has a scare while Jules pays the price for dropping over at Rae's house unannounced. Letty and Rae try to convince a pregnant woman to get a biopsy on a suspicious chest tumor. Matt discovers what's been bothering him about Linda Weatherbee's autopsy report.

5/19/03...Surprise, Surprise...Letty is awaiting the delivery of the defibrillators so she can start her new heart defibrillation program. On Jackie's front, she sees a socialite patient who wants lipo in an unusual place. Jules tries to distract a sixteen year old from getting breast implants but the teen has different plans. To Rae, Nick relays a most welcome bit of news & the men at Presidio receive a secret admirer. Running interference for Jules, Matt helps track down the source of the mystery ailment that four year old Alessio Evangelista came down with in Topeka & Matt tells Doctor Howland the results of her practice lecture on "Emergency Surgical Techniques in the ER." But the news isn't good for Doctor Howland. I gave Harriet the day off.

5/12/03...An ADA Speaks to Rae
Ellen Etzel, an Assistant District Attorney, makes Rae sweat during an hours-long interview during which the ADA decides to take Rae's case to trial. Robert Winningham is much nastier than previously believed. Jules makes a misdiagnosis of a flu patient--who doesn't have the flu--and Doctor Howland is attempting to correct Jules' diagnosis but a panic-stricken woman overhears a part of the conversation. Matt is still feeling down after Linda Weatherbee's sudden death & he decides to meet up with Nick for dinner, Jackie manages to short out a circuit, potentially causing problems in OR 4, where Letty and a tired-from-shootings Tom are working on a quadruple bypass. After their lecture, Harriet and Jules end up discussing a Washington Post article (real life: ran on Saturday, May 10) with the residents.

5/10/05...Sudden Change of Plans: Dalgety's date in Reno goes very well as Lady Luck gives him and his date quite the lucky streak. But in Robert Dalgety's world, for every good thing that happens, there's a sudden change of plans...

I'm still finding Dalgety's voice...Rae's questioning by the ADA will be posted Monday.

5/5/03...Continuations...Continuing the "Something Wicked This Way Comes" fic series and the companion to "Special Deliveries"...upon her return to San Francisco Sunday evening, Rae discovered there wasn't much mention on the news about her delivering the Winery Baby, although the news is making human interest headlines up and down the coast. Disappointed with the lack of news coverage, Rae decides to give rookie tv reporter Amanda Sotherby another shot at interviewing; Rae (not knowing how damaging written evidence can be in a court room) starts a journal & she receives a phone call from an assistant DA. Meanwhile, Harriet's patients are busy debunking a common myth & Jules is practicing Harriet's lecture notes in preparation for Harriet's lecture on Tuesday. Several of Jackie's patients have cancelled and she's taking advantage of the freedom to go out to lunch. Letty is concerned about a bypass patient's argumentativeness. On the Nick side, he's recently been appointed as Deputy Director to Matt's WHO SARS Control Specialist (another title change), & Nick is enjoying his time on the rented ketch, catching up on his upcoming lecture notes (he signed up for another practice lecture). And despite Amanda's rotten rookie interview with him, Matt was contacted by CNN to do an interview.

Elsewhere on the Matt front, he grows concerned about a patient's welfare when she shows up in his office sporting stitches just under her eyebrow, David tells Matt he is considering easing up on patient visiting restrictions in effect during the SARS crisis, Matt asks trainee Physician Assistant Harmony for a date (that extends to dinner) & Doctor Howland chews out Matt for his allowing Nick to attend her lecture. (I love the new b/w photo of Paul! Found it on a Lagaan site.)

Dr Dalgety will be seeing patients this week--in a step forward for Doctor Dalgety, he has accepted a date--and they end up in Reno. But the stars are aligning and conspire not only to enrich Dalgety's bank account, but the stars keep him and his date in Reno: (upload by Friday).

4/28/03... Must finish re-designing this site...I hate writer's block! McCallum fic does not respond. Rebus doesn't appear to be my cup of tea but he's the best of the bunch so far. I am in serious need of a vacation...

Special Deliveries is a softer fic that wanders about. Giving Rae a break from all the pounding she's received lately, Rae gets not one but two surprise deliveries. On the Nick front, he comes up with a way for Rae to assist other date-rape victims. With Tom's assistance, Letty cribs an idea from Matt & proposes her own press conference. Jules and Jackie go on a tour of Napa but they find their trip cut short. After getting Charles Grayning's biopsy results, Matt's press conference turns out to be a one-on-one interview but he is both disappointed in the interview and surprised at the reception the interview gets. Harriet tries to rope an unsuspecting Nick into assisting with one of her lectures. A Starring Everyone storyline. Drink Safe Coasters can be found here.

4/21/03...Part II of Something Wicked This Way Comes.
Rae's been released from the hospital and is about to be interviewed by the police--again. Nick is a bit distant with Rae; perhaps he's reacting at the unexpected development her life has taken or maybe it's the long-distance relationship maturing. For Matt, after seeing a male patient with chest pain, Matt grows worried about an ugly rumor going around the City: that SARS is rampant down on Noriega Street (see CBS news article) & he comes up with an idea to help dispel the rumor. Elsewhere on the Matt front, he has asked Jackie out to lunch but when Tom's wallet comes up missing, a fed up with rumors Matt chews out the gossip hungry Jackie before she even has a chance to gossip. a Matt/Rae/Nick storyline...

4/14/03...Paging Dr Dalgety!...Doctor Dalgety is now accepting patients. The latest shorty fic was a possible story treatment for MDs and naturally I wanted to feature JH.

In Just A Matter Of Time, Dalgety is slowly coming to terms with the death of his girlfriend Gina Reyes (Danielle Camastra) in a traffic accident. As a result of a freak record snowfall, Dalgety's been worked to the bone these last few weeks while holed up at the Mish (Mission General). On the first warm spring day in the City, Dalgety mills with the thronging crowds on the streets, then decides to go for take out at his favorite Thai restaurant. Thinking twice upon his recent confinement, Dalgety decides to have a sit down dinner. But Dalgety's split second decision will place him in the middle of a gang war--and he has flashbacks to his battlefield experience. PM's Aftermath features a small part of this storyline.

4/7/03...delivered: A Matt/Rae/Nick longer dual major storyline featuring Doctor Howland.

In Something Wicked This Way Comes, in his new responsibility as SARS Control Manager, Matt is emotionally strained by a lot of angry patients. To help deal with the SARS crisis (2601 infected; 100 dead as of 4/7, according to WHO), UMC has advanced strict new patient visiting hours, in addition to strict new germ-control tactics & Matt leads the brigade. Meanwhile, Rae has to deal with having to inform a young opinionated patient about her being placed in a highly controversial drug trial. Then Rae is faced with a shocking new crisis--and it affects Nick. However, things aren't always as they seem @ the offices of Presidio...but that's the title to another fanfic story. The substories in "Wicked", including Rae's decision, will be resolved during subsequent PM fics.

4/5/03 Long absence here...Monday (4/7) will see an upload of a PM storyline that popped up on Friday. It's a Rae-centric story that stretches the PM storyline to its limits while Matt initiates a new job angle to his partnership...Dr Howland makes an appearance and her sharp tongue bites! But things aren't always as they seem...& Rae, along with Dr Nick have some thinking to do.

3/13/03...As promised! Continuing my dialogue skills, a new Presidio Med fic: Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained. Not as integrated or well developed as "Deep", NVNG brings a promise from Nick to Matt when Matt is given an ultimatum by the HMO, and Rae is forced to confront her feelings about Nick--to Nick himself.

4/7/03 Found a Beeb interview they did with Paul & Sport Relief...

Surfsup over at Presidio Med.net obtained the promo photos I used on Paul's PM gallery. I had to slice-n-dice 'em down to a wee smaller size...haven't gotten around to doing the new photos I noticed she posted. Thanks!
