Always & Forever

    Always and forever
a promise I made so long ago,
he was there when I hurt
and he was there when I laughed,
    and now he is gone.

    Always and forever
    shall I remember him,
his laughter, his smile, his love
    and he is gone.

    Always and forever
shall I be indebted to him--
    for he was loyal
    and made sure
I knew the good I had in me,
    and he is gone.

    Always and forever
I shall miss him for when
    I had cause and reason
to doubt those that called me a friend
I knew I could trust him
    and I did,
    with all my heart.
When I was sure no one cared
    and no one needed me
    he told me he did.
    When I needed
    someone to believe in me
he was the first to say he
    believed
    and now he is gone.

    Always and forever
I shall love him, my true friend,
    for his mother gave me
    something very special,
    something good and true--
    and irreplaceable--
    but he is gone.

    Always and forever
    I will remain his friend,
for a piece of my heart
    always has and always
    will belong only to him
    and he is gone.

    Always and forever,
my heart will have a broken piece
    now filled with memories
of a great and true friend,
    and the knowledge
    I was truly blessed
to have had that for so long
    and he is gone.
    My friend is gone.

I really really miss you Little John.
